Exotic Sliders, Fat ToadX and MORE!
First Exotic Sliders
Finally, after being asked for years...
I have the first Exotic Sliders going up on the website.
Here's a quick look:

These are only the first two but I have more I am working on right now. They will be dropping under MagLab (one on the MagLab page ...and the other down below).
Two more things...
#1 - I also plan to drop some in emails here and there as well (see keep an eye on your Inbox)
and
#2 - While I do have one or two full-bodied Exotic Sliders I have made (but not finished) - I personally prefer the "less is more" look. I think an Exotic INLAY is aesthetically better that the entire slider being Exotic.
Fat ToadX
Finally made a Fat ToadX!
I'll keep this to the three things you need to know:
#1 - It is very light (and looks pretty wild if I'm being honest)
#2 - Other than one other slider we make, this has the longest machining time (something like 6 hours!)
#3 - Because of #2 above, I'll likely not make it going forward.
I have a few made right now and I'll be dropping them over the next few days or week though.

My 3 x Most Popular Sliders
I've been designing and making sliders for exactly 4.5 years.
The three sliders I'm going to show you are the most popular. Not the most popular right now -- but the most popular over the years.
But, before we continue...
These are not the most talked about. There are not the most discussed. These are the "quiet heroes".
The first was the original Toad:

It didn't matter how many other designs I came up with after I released this - it was the steady seller that just kept going.
That was until the ToadX came about:

The ToadX was actually an accident. I showed a blog post with a half-finished regular Toad that had "steps" in it (because it was only partially CNC machined).
People went crazy and wanted that exact slider -- which I couldn't specifically release because it was very rough (only being partially CNC machined).
However, I was able to design a more refined version of it and release is as an actual slider.
The regular Toad never quite sold the same again once the ToadX was on the scene - it stole the spotlight.
At some point we stopped making the ToadX (no particular reason, I just was trying different things I think).
The SkellyHex seemed to take it's place:

This is the current "hero" of our sliders. I have recently started making the ToadX - so it will be interesting to see what people think of that now that the SkellyHex is around.
I have not made any regular Toad sliders in a long, LONG time - but I would like to try and few and see what people think of them.
I have purchased 3 of your sliders now, and i’ve loved them all. I have an interesting perspective that you might find to be a helpful critique. I fix cars for a living, so my work enviornment is loaded with rust, metal shavings, ect. I have found that the “muffin tray” slider surfaces seem to function best when a sliver of metal debris gets caught between the plates. The deep pockets allow a place for the metal to “hang out” while im fidgeting. The other design that I have, is the one with very many shallow circles, and when even a small piece of metal gets in there, it locks the slider up unitl I can blow it off with compressed air. Which leads me to my most important critisism – the open plate designs where the magnet is visible would be an absolute NIGHTMARE to clean out. If I dropped a slider like that at work, I would be blowing it out with compressed air for days before I get it all out of there. I have wanted to make a new purchase, but I literally couldnt use it. My point is, it would be nice to offer a closed slide plate design when purchasing. The muffin trays as by far the best for anyone who works in an enviornment where small particles of ferros metals are abundant. I hope you find this helpful!!! Other than that, I love what youre doing. Your designs are killer! keep up the good work!
Also forgot to mention, whatever is in the coating in Dark Matter, expand on that. Something about that coating helps reduce palm or thumb moisture. For instance I love my skelly saddle, but I noticed my thumb is quick to get sweaty. Can’t wait for another dark matter coated skelly saddle to drop.
Just have to start off by saying I have the 3 click toad and it’s still one of my favorites. Sadly I wasn’t as jazzed about the toad X as the top edges were a bit rough and caused my thumb to be sore faster (didn’t stop me from playing haha).
I actually just started adding to my collection and can’t wait for my Skelly Hex toad to arrive. Honestly, Magnus thank you for you. Because it was your idea that started this all and brought so much joy to a lot of people across the world. Thank you and can’t wait to see what comes out next.
As for the rest of you crybabies who came to this post to whine at Magnus like a kid crying who didn’t get what they want for Christmas, yall should be ashamed of yourselves. FYI I have adhd and have struggled with it all my life. Magnus’s fidgets have been a staple in my everyday life. Sure I’d love to have every snazzy new fidget he drops but he can only make so many in so little time and he’s trying to be as fair as possible. He’s working to a point where he’ll likely be able to fulfill all the orders but for now this is what we get. Be grateful or go find a different toy to play with.
I believe you lack consideration for the people who enjoy this hobby.
Your drop system forces people to check every hour and repeatedly experience failure, and you don’t seem to understand how many problems this causes for those with ADHD.
Also, slider users have continuously asked for evenly spaced magnet layouts, but naturally, since you are not a slider user yourself, you haven’t understood why people are making these requests.
Lastly, your products sell on the secondary market at least 20% below retail.
Because you produce far too many, losing more than 20% of the value is guaranteed the moment someone buys one.
This hobby is not just about enjoyment — these are collectibles whose value should at least be preserved, and in some cases even increase.
That’s what keeps people engaged in this hobby.
For these reasons, I will no longer purchase Magnus products.
And I believe more and more people will begin to feel the same way.
Magnus, I’ve been following and purchasing from you since you first started out. I have one of your original spinners still! I keep it in the little wooden box! Please, I beg you to change your drop method.. Or at least create a custom order page. There are so many sliders that I love, but due to the time difference, everytime I check the emails, they are always sold out. I love your stuff, and would pay lots, but I can’t get anything that I truly want anymore. I hope that you can come up with a solution for this. Thanks for your consideration,
All the best,
Chris
