First up...
I hope you're having some time off with friends and family wherever you are in the world. I always find this time of year gives me a chance to really reflect on life ...and the business (because, let's face it, this business is my life :-D).
The second part of this blog post is a bit different to anything I have talked about in the past - it's a chance for a few individuals to support our business in a different way.
Today's post
Titanium Atoms
We've been making around one Atom fidget per day for a while (although, we slowed down to zero a day for a while as we ran out of Titanium).
Every time I list an Atom for sale on the website it sells within seconds.
This makes me happy for two reasons:
#1 - It's awesome that people want it so much (that's just pure ego for me :-D).
and
#2 - The Atom never sold too well when I first released them a couple of years ago. I found this strange as, personally, this is my #1 fidget. I like Sliders - but the Atom is the one I really use. So it's cool to see they are now REALLY popular.
However, over the Christmas period, I am "back on the tools" and running the CNC machines myself - and so I've done as many Atoms as I can possibly do (it's still only around a couple of dozen at this stage because they take a LONG time to make).

A Chance To Support Magnus In A Different Way

I'm going to keep this section short and simple (because it will only appeal to a handful of individuals).
After labor, the second-largest cost in our business is machine loan repayments. Manufacturing is very capital intensive because of the machines required - typically costing around $200,000(USD) each. This is why the business is dependent on banks loans. I took out my first loan for a machine over 9 years ago ...and have continued to do this since.
However, just recently, I have two people I am close to that are shortly going to be lending capital to the business. Essentially providing loans directly to us ...instead of me taking out more loans with the bank. I'd much rather give these Magnus fans an annual return on their capital than the bank (who really only care about the numbers and barely know what we do).
Here at Magnus we are in the best position we have ever been in. Slider and Pen sales are higher than they have ever been and the business is making money - yet we still don't have enough CNC machining capacity (more demand than we can supply right now).
In researching and working through the details of how to setup these private loans I discovered it is actually fairly easy to offer others the chance to provide such a loan to help grow the Magnus business - instead of me going the usual bank route.
