Finally, a slick and minimalist bolt action pen...

"They Laughed When I Said I'd Designed
A High-End Titanium Bolt-Action
Pen
...Until I Showed Them THIS!"

EVERY Component Is Machined In-House From Grade 5 Titanium

From: Magnus Macdonald, MagnusX.com

Dear Friend,

If you've been looking for a slim, minimalist Titanium Bolt-Action Pen ...then you've just found it!

A quick confession:

I own a few titanium bolt-action pens ...and every single one of them is fairly "industrial" and "chunky".

A ton of searching online over the years has resulted in me finding exactly zero bolt-action pens that are slim and minimalist. Nobody seems to make such a pen.

So, time to roll-up my sleeves (again)...

With total confidence (because I'm the maker of the now legendary Titanium "Click" Pen) I set out the design the ultimate minimalist Titanium Bolt-Action Pen.

Here's the strict criteria I gave myself:

-- 100% Grade 5 Titanium
-- Ultra-Functional
-- Minimalist Design
-- Slim Barrel

It took some time to get the design right - but after many hours and tons of tweaking. The "Bolty™" - Titanium Bolt-Action Pen was ready:
Arguably the most important must-have feature of this pen is the smoothness of the bolt-action.

The truth is:

The mechanism is buttery-smooth and an absolute dream to fidget with.
Pocket Clip
I knew before I even started designing the Bolty™ pen that the pocket-clip was going to be a MAJOR part of the design.

In fact, I'll go even further and say...

Apart from the super-functional bolt action the pocket-clip is the most important part of this pen.

I'll confess now:

The pocket-clip on the Bolty™ pen is a lot better than the pocket-clip on my titanium "click" pen (not that the pocket-clip on the "click" pen is bad ...it's just not as good as this new pocket-clip).

This new pocket-clip is not only ultra-functional (I did an absolute TON of testing to get it right) but the aesthetics are something I spent a great deal of time on (in other words ...it took ages to make it look THIS good):
You Can Disassemble Yourself
My previous two titanium pens could be completely disassembled - and this bolt-action pen is no different.

However, with this bolt-action pen, there are three titanium machine-screws ...and so a standard T-8 Torx is required to take the clip and button off.

No tools are required to change the refill - that can be done by screwing the tip off the pen.
Six Precision Machined Components
I'm a fan of keeping things as simple as possible...

And that's what I've done with the Bolty™ pen. The minimum number of parts I can get away with is 6 ...and so that's how many parts there are.

Oh, and EVERY PART is made in-house here where I live in New Zealand.

(actually, the three machine screws on the pen are not made by me ...because it requires a specialized Swiss-style Lathe ...which is a machine I do not have).
100% Grade 5 Titanium
This is the third pen I've designed. And, just like the others, this is made entirely from Grade 5 Titanium (yes, even the spring).

The aim is to make the ultimate, minimalist Titanium bolt-action pen ...and so, of course, the entire thing MUST be made from the best material. Titanium.
Custom Spring
The custom-designed titanium spring is just one of the things that sets this pen apart from the others.

A ton of testing and tweaking went into this spring. Not only that, but it’s a difficult component to produce (which is probably why no one else has attempted this).
Dimensions
The length of the pen is 129mm (5.0") and the diameter is 9mm (0.35").

The weight is 22g (0.8 Oz).
Finger Grooves
The finger grooves are directly from the truly tried and tested design used on previous pens.
100% Waterproof
If you buy specific ink refills – such as the Fisher Space Pen refill – then you can write underwater.

There are no parts on this pen that will corrode, seize or otherwise be affected by seawater (probably the harshest environment you can subject this pen to).
Matte Custom Surface Finish
This pen will boast my original, tried-and-tested, buttery-smooth 'Matte' finish. It's a silver color and also looks better and better as it ages and gets used.

Not only that... but it's highly scratch-resistant too!
Accepts Parker-Style Refills
This pen uses the most popular refill-type in the world ...which is commonly known as the Parker-style refill (sometimes known as "G2").

Here's a list of some of the refills you can use in the pen:

Faber-Castell Ballpoint Pen Refill
Fisher Space Pen Refill, PR Series- Colors (Bold, dium, Fine)
